Monitor changes in your database In some situations, a single analysis on static data or passive update reports are not enough. You do not want to check the reports all the time - what you need is a regular analysis of your current database checking for various conditions. If these conditions are met (this might be a high temperature at a measuring point, an unexpected fall of some stocks in your portfolio, low stock of some goods in a warehouse), you want to be notified by the system. In DataScope, these conditions are called "events", and they mean checking a numeric value (generally aggregated for a discrete category, like "maximum sells for a specified stock in the last hour") against a constant value that you have specified. While this definition of event is simple, behind the controlled field value the whole DataScope toolbox is at your hands, so it can be the result of several models and complex expressions on the imported fields. With the DataScope Monitor Module, you can specify these conditions as "events" using a friendly Event Manager interface, or even by simple mouse operations on some chart types. After an event is created, you can specify action(s) to be executed when the event occures (value reaches above or falls below a specified value). Above the common "electronic operations" of sending a customizable e-mail or network popup messages to one or more addresses, DataScope can launch an external application also, giving you free hand on what kind of notification you wish to get or action to be accomplished on that condition. DataScope Monitor Module lets you leave your desk, it refreshes its data table (executes the import with the same parameters from your current database, recalculates all columns created in the projects, evaluates models), checks the current situation for all extreme conditions you wish to get notified on, and takes the specified actions.
