Integrate DataScope with other applications Most companies already have their own data management system. They have spent serious amount of resources on those systems which are tailored tot their needs. They collect their business data and support them some (more or less detailed) analysis. In this case the most important question is how smoothly DataScope can integrate into the existing system. The Integration Module addresses this area. With this module, an external application can launch DataScope using a script that defines from wchich source, what data should be imported, what charts should be automatically opened. In this way, the existing system can be easily (sometimes without programming) be extended with DataScope functionality: invoking a command in the host system opens up DataScope with the predefined charts, so a specific analysis can begin at once. The module also contains the DSRefresh utility. This command line tool enables an external application (or you) to communicate with a running DataScope application. Starting it with the proper parameters you can have your DataScope refresh its data table - for example, when the host system closes the day or registers an important change in the database. A running DataScope can also be remote controlled through the Web, using CGI scripts, you can also have DataScoep to refresh its data. This means that if your DataScope runs unattended on a server that also is your intranet server, you can create a button on a web page that makes DataScope refresh its data table when pressed. Naturally this function is best being used together with the AutoExporter Module, so data refresh will mean data exports and created HTML reports on your company intranet pages to be refreshed.
